Charlcee joined Joyce Law Firm in January 2017, after managing the Fayetteville branch of the James Law Firm (a Little Rock based criminal defense firm). Since joining, Charlcee has focused on criminal defense, representing clients who have been accused of felonies, misdemeanors, traffic offenses and juvenile offenders. Charlcee has also represented clients involved in the civil order of protection process.
Having practiced criminal law exclusively since law school, Charlcee began her career at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Arkansas, as a brief writer. Charlcee drafted briefs to present to the Eighth Circuit Court of appeals on behalf of the federal government. To gain litigation experience, Charlcee left the federal government for a position with the State of Arkansas as a deputy prosecuting attorney at the Benton County Prosecutor’s Office, in Bentonville, Arkansas beginning in May of 2012. During her three years as a prosecutor, Charlcee tried over 500 cases involving criminal and traffic matters.
Prior to attending law school, Charlcee attended the University of Arkansas, graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. In May 2011, Charlcee received her Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law. While in law school, Charlcee worked in the University of Arkansas Juvenile Criminal Defense Clinic, representing juveniles in criminal matters in front of Judge Stacey Zimmerman in Washington County Circuit Court, Division 3. She also served as a judicial intern for Washington County Circuit Court Judge Kim Smith and as an extern with the U.S. Department of Justice.
Charlcee is licensed to practice law in Arkansas. In 2015, Charlcee was admitted to practice in the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas U.S. District Courts. She is an active member of the Arkansas Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys (“AACDL”).
Originally from Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Charlcee moved to Fayetteville when she was 18 to attend college and has lived in the NWA area since 2004. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, attending Razorback sporting events and entertaining friends and family.
